
US Deputy Secretary of Defence visits RAF Fairford
A surprise visitor into RAF Fairford on Monday, October 12th, 2020 was one of the United States Air Forces C-32 aircraft, tasked with carrying high-ranking US officials across the world, as was the case here!
The then US Deputy Secretary of Defense, David L. Norquist, arrived at Stansted Airport on October 11th. The following morning, Norquist flew to Aberdeen Airport. From Aberdeen, the aircraft was flown to RAF Fairford and left a few hours later back to Stansted Airport.
The USAF operates 13 C-32s, 8 of which are painted in the Presidential blue and white scheme. These 8 fly with the 1st Airlift Squadron, 89th Airlift Wing, out of Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. The other 5 are more incognito, painted white and occasionally carrying fake registration numbers!
